Description
Golden Thuja Plant or Morpankhi belongs to the Cypress family. This evergreen conifer is densely branched that can become 50 feet tall with a spread of 20. This is a popular plant which is found in every small Garden in India and grown as a smaller, bushier shrub.
Generally, it has many stems but can be trimmed into a single leader stem to create a tree-like form. The numerous slender branches support shoots that spread out in flat vertical planes. Its little scales like leaves overlap and are tightly packed on the shoots. The overall shape is conical, around 15 to 25 mm long and becomes more irregular and spreads with age. Although it is native to China and Korea, it is grown as an ornamental plant all over the world.
